School Street Barn : ウィキペディア英語版 | School Street Barn
The School Street Barn is the last remaining 19th century barn in Agawam, Massachusetts's School Street Park. The 1880 barn is associated with a farmhouse (built c. 1840) that was torn down in 2000. The barn is located in a public park, between Main Street and the parking area within the park boundaries. It is about long and wide, with a gable height of about . It stands on a brick and stone foundation, and has concrete ramps to the large barn doors centered on the gable ends. It is sided with vertically mounted tongue-and-groove wooden boards. The interior of the barn is a typical three story New England post-and-beam construction.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=NRHP nomination for School Street Barn )〕 From 1938 until the late 1980s the area was part of Hampden County's jail farm, which provided food for the prison population in the Springfield York Street jail. The property was turned over to the town, which converted it into the School Street Park.〔 The barn was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2012.〔 ==See also==
